I'm almost positive that I've seen files be transferred over router and shtuff. I don't have much experience with it myself, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen on other networks on several occasions.

make sure the folder with the files in it has sharing turned on (Rightclick->sharing..), and then go to My Network Places on the other computer to find the folder.

Yeah u need to share the folder on one PC, u can also map that network drive on the other PC so the shared folder shows up in My Computer.

Just go to 'My Computer' & click Tools ie



Then choose the folder by clicking the 'browse' button on the map network wizard.

Also u may have to make sure ur firewall allows access between the 2 PCs, esp if ur using a 3rd Party F/W like Sunbelt/Kerio PF, or ZoneAlarm.
