I've always got the feeling if Rivera starts shaky, it takes a big hit or some actual on-base presence/threats to make him zone in. I could be just imagining, though.

Edwar might not be the only bullpen gem the Yankees found in the Independent Leagues.
Scott Patterson has thrown 102 2-3 innings in the last two years at Double-A with 10.6 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9. He gave up six HR in 38 2-3 innings last year but just one in 63 2-3 so far this year. Stephen Artz was signed a couple of weeks ago and has thrown 7 2-3 perfect innings with 15 K in Single-A. He's only 23.

Where is this coming from?
Did we revamp our scouting department or something? We never found guys like these over the last 8-9 years. Or are we just not trading them away now?
