[ QUOTE ] F this sample size bull. [/ QUOTE ] hey if you were a professional gambler you would understand sample size a little bit better... oh wait.......... [/ QUOTE ] If that doesn't cheer you up Joe, then...hey wait, how many months pregnant is your wife??? This has nothing to do with Gagne. I completely understand now. [censored], i was ready to kill everyone. craig |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
btw gagne looked afwul tonight. there is no getting around that. he should probably be used as the 3rd man from the pen going forward as even at his best this year he just doesnt = okijima.
or perhaps he needs 15 days on the DL. whatever. he looked awful tonight. nothing unlucky about it. |

again. [/ QUOTE ] I've heard you before and that's why I was asking what games you are watching? [ QUOTE ] eric gagne this SEASON has been a very good reliever. [/ QUOTE ] He's been on the DL, twice, I think, and looks like Texas shipped him out at the right time, eh? [ QUOTE ] for his career he has been one of the best in MLB history. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe we should get Eckersley to pitch, I heard he had a good career too. [ QUOTE ] PECOTA projects him to be very good for a few more seasons. [/ QUOTE ] PECOTA has never pitched in Fenway in the heat of a playoff race when they are screaming at you and threatening your life and your family by the most maniacal fans in baseball. [ QUOTE ] his LAST OUTING he STRUCK OUT 3/4 hitters he faced. [/ QUOTE ] Devil Rays. [ QUOTE ] WHY WOULDNT I ASSUME HE WAS OK TO CLOSE A GAME? [/ QUOTE ] I can only HOPE you are right but right now he SUCKS DONKEY BALL SWEAT! |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
[ QUOTE ]
lol, that's exactly what i was thinking during that at-bat. this had straight-gassed-fastball-gagne written all over it. [/ QUOTE ] Why shouldn't he keep throwing fastballs? When Willits hadn't caught up to any of them? I agree it's discouraging that he can't blow it by him, and that at-bat probably affected the rest of the inning, but there's no reason to say "how about trying to get him to swing at a sinking changeup in the dirt" when he hasn't done anything with gas but fight it off. [ QUOTE ] by the time figgins went up, he'd already thrown 20 pitches and was all-over the strike zone. [/ QUOTE ] That was unfortunate (has anyone done a study of pitchers' stats vs. the batter immediately following a 10+ pitch at-bat?) but things could have gone much differently. Figgins found a hole, Cabrera found a hole. If either of those same ground balls are a GIDP, we aren't even talking right now. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
so i was thinking maybe cleveland could take gagne from you and you could have borowski. one of the two has 30+ saves and the other doesn't. this is an obv deal.
ship it! |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
ah jeez yer right
well we'll exercise our option and then trade him after we win the WS since i am assuming tito is too stupid to stop using gagne despite a large sample size of terrible performance |
