All,

I'd recommend not paying for a car with cash. Get some sort of small loan to establish credit.

edit: obv only for the youngins

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I just got boned by bad credit. I have plenty of cash in the bank, and can prove I've made six figures in 2006, yet NO ONE would rent to me in a nice area I wanted to lvie (I had to get my mom to co-sign) because my credit is in the 500's because basically my only credit history is based off a couple small credit cards that I paid lazily (and had balances of like $200.)

[/ QUOTE ]

I have basically no work history, no current job, and absolutely no credit history and I got an apartment (without any upfront payments or extra deposits) just by telling them that I play online poker

I found that to be somewhat amusing.

[/ QUOTE ]

hah. I find it hard to believe someone with tons of cash on hand would be turned down to rent an apartment. If it was me, I'd just offer X months in advance.

Nobody turns down cash up front.

[/ QUOTE ]

They never verified that I had any money. That's what was so weird about it. They told me I'd need to provide at least a bank statement, but then they never followed through at all.

At least in California, it's illegal to take more than 2 months up front. Maybe I could have found a single home owner who didn't really care, but I was attempting to get a house in Hermosa Beach, a very nice and in demand beach in LA, where every single decent apartment/2 bedroom house for rent has 5+ willing tenants within a week of it's listing.

looooooooool plastikcards

I wonder if he thinks I am a huge fish, as hes played me @ 5/10 HU and i think at best was break even, but sat in vs me @ 2/4 hu too, where there have to be much softer opponents. game selection FTW!

did any of you see the 10/20 FR game going on ftp last night. it was probably the overall softest 10/20 table I've seen all year on ftp/stars. lineup was like : 5 fish w/ 500-1200 stacks, 2 6m regs, 1 complete maniac/spewtard(who dropped 10+ there), me. amazingly I didn't run like [censored] and finished up a BI.
