ToP definitely.. then probably Poker Essays, then PNL

ToP is more or less on limit holdem rather than nl. Most books, cept for Harringtons and a few passages from Skalansky, are a waste of time.

ps Sorry I forgot the ace on the river for all the beautiful pictures

ToP gets a few of the basics down though.. PNL is kinda.. eh. I haven't given it a chance at the table, mostly because I don't have time to think about it, but when they advocated limp/reraising KK to get the target SPR.. meh.

HOH is one of the best books you will ever read on poker. It will teach you how to stop being a moron and play tight. At some point you may have to unlearn some things from the book, but for uNL'ers it is a MUST read.

I agree that PNL is more damage than benefit You need to know a lot about the game to be able to filter it. And when you do, the book does not really help much

I started reading ToP. And i have no clue how I could use it for my poker game. All the stuff he writes about, have i read before either in another book or here at the forums :/
Because of that i read the first 20 pages and quit :/

I am definately going to give TOP a read, I realise that it is aimed at limit hold'em but a lot of people seem to think that it has a lot of fundamental concepts...

I get the impression that people seem to be rather sceptical about PNL [ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ] so maybe I will give that one a miss for the moment. I also have HOH vol 1 which I have read, but I don't have any of the other harrington books.... is vol 2/vol 3 relevent to cash or is it just vol 1?

Vol 2 is kinda all right, you may want to play shortstack or a mtt once in a while anyway
