The way it was inevitable to shake out with this post, I think it should have been nixed under the trainwreck clause from the start. Yes, Elaine is not right in the head, and yes, she's full of malice and lies. However, posting things like this only goes to make us all look worse. We can't sling mud without getting some on ourselves. And for what purpose? A little Schadenfreude? This might not cause "mortal hurting," but I think the real-life implications of these Elaine-bashing posts are more reaching than has been thought. Giving the crazy lady more attention than she deserves really is throwing gasoline on the fire for no good reason at all. Ignoring her completely and swiftly nixing any links to or discussion of her blog from here on out seems like a good policy.

Dids, if you want to pm Mason with questions, my guess is he will answer. Or he might even answer here. There's much more to the story than elaine likes to tell. In the interest of new policy, pm correspondence is probably the best way to continue if you want more details.

I post that stuff because I think it will crack up OOT, not out of any real malice towards Elaine. It's just [censored] hilarious to me. I'm more than willing to avoid it if Mason/Mat wants us to knock it off.

Well, the chuddo trainwreck was hilarious. Brian's Myspace trainwrecks were hilarious. The jason_t fiasco was hilarious. It doesn't mean that it won't get taken too far in a forum like OOT.

I'm not arguing against the removal of the thread, I totally understand their position, but I don't think it's really comperable with the above situations. I totally agree that those all got taken too far, but I don't think this happened here.

In many of those instances, 2p2 became a plotting ground from which to launch attacks on other folks. The only comment I saw on Elaine's blog was my own, and that was bascially addressing something I'd said that she has mischaracterized.
