Hey guys,

I am making a switch from Full ring NL(200nl) to 6-max because of recent struggles at full ring making me realize that after 400nl 6max play is crucial so I figure I might as well just start playing 6-max..I don't want to start a new thread or anything and am going to start searching for topics on this, but thought I would just mention my question here to see if anyone had answers..

1) How is the FPP landscape? I am going to look at the thread that talks about fpp/hand but was wondering how 6 tabling 6-max compares to 9-tablnig full ring..more or less points/hr? Also, if you can 9 table FR is 6 tables almost the equivalent in SH play?

2) Is there a general guideline for play anywhere? I am thinking 22/18 or so would be ideal for play at 100nl, but maybe I will be a little tighter as I am learning post-flop play. Also, obviously positional play is going to be very important here as it wasn't all that big of a deal in FR I don't think.

3) Is the profit here greater? I was running 2.8 ptbb at 100nl fr and played 90k hands a month. I figure with more tables and more donkeys here the ptbb should be greater, no? Are people making >4k a month playing 100nl here?

Thank you guys, and as I learn more about the 6-max game I will continually add more in the strat dept for others.

Suggestions? Still looking for the right word to describe my feelings. A mixture of pity and anger, with a pinch of amusement thrown in. Sort of what I'd feel about an annoying drunk that tries to punch me in the face with wild swings and accidentally swings his elbow into my stomach.

THIS IS AMAZING JIG, he started posting on here about a month ago, he keeps posting about how he is better than anyone at 100nl and 200nl but cant figure out why he is losing and cant win there. He sits with me alot HU and i told him he is awful at game selecting and he got mad about that. I love sitting with him HU tho.

yea i'd keep grinding once u hit the 6 max tables, if you are below 5 ptbb/100 i would not move up any levels so keep working on your game and GL.

6 tables 6max < 9 tables FR, the VPP per hand is nearly the same 6max/FR.

Stats are useless. 22/18 is quite fine. I run tighter, like 19/15, others run looser, like 28/22. Everything in that range can be profitable. Postflop is where it's at. And also, understanding why you are raising preflop will deepen your game. It's not necessary to win, you can just learn the guidelines and read off the chart, but going with the flow of the table will help.

I think 7-8 PTBB is sustainable at Stars 100NL, but I never played > 4 tables.

Hey,

You say the vpp/hand is the same, but obviously the hands/hr/table are not the same. What kind've rate do you get at hands per hour per table on a 6-max table? 9 tables of FR I think I get 500 hands/hr, what would I get a 6 tables of 6-max?

Thanks!

Just finished my first session in July and ran bad. I lost 2 KK vs AA and was 2 outed 3 times :<. I somehow managed to actually earn 1/3 of a bi in 1600 hands.
