Basketball:
If you talk to the refs you get a T. You get 5'9" refs thinking they are King of France.
Free throws every 5 seconds.

Soccer:
The offsides rule
A foul HAS to be called if someone falls down

Hockey:
Make-up calls & matching minors when only one party deserves a penalty

It absolutely boggles my mind that there are NBA players that shoot free throws poorly. I don't understand how some players can shoot 85%+ while some can shoot in the mid 50% range.

Somewhat of a peeve is pant-leggings rolled up in baseball.

In addition... Josh Towers' followthrough. What a sissy.

You seem to be out to get JT, eh? And not even being a Jays fan, just how often are you forced to suffer while watching him?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm Canadian, but the Yanks are my favourite. After them though, I'll root for the Jays, so I end up watching a lot of Jays baseball on Sportsnet since not many Yanks games get played out west. I swear, though, he's like the only player that I get annoyed when I watch him pick.

Teams calling timeout at the end of games when they have pretty much no shot at winning.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is insta-lifetilt when the game you want to watch won't start airing till the one on now stops. team is down 12 with :13 to go, drains a 3 to cut it to 9 and calls time out. you bastards

sometimes it's a player calling it without much clock-awareness or not knowing that the rest of the team is ready to give it up.

If they had a rule that the team's didn't HAVE to take all 60 seconds of the time-out, they could just use it to stop the clock and then immediately resume play if they wanted to, then that could save a lot of hassle.

In the situations you are describing, the coach often-times just gathers the kids in and tells them that it's over, no more fouling, let them in-bound and run the clock out. So they stand around looking at each other in the time-out, play the last 9 seconds, and it's over.

If they could just skip past the mandatory 60 seconds it could help.

the god comments are the most annoying. especially when boxers like Evander Holyfield continuously preach gospel in every interview. im thinking yah, god really gave you the strength to punch your opponent in the head and give him brain damage. god bless thee.

[/ QUOTE ]

He believes that God did call him to box and give him his talents. So when an announcer asked him "What helped you win tonight?" and he believes God was the #1 reason, how exactly do you want him to answer?

Now if you disagree with his philosophies, thats fine. But I don't understand how you can critisize him for answering the questions truthfully and to the best of his ability. If you don't think hes an interesting interviewee, then turn the channel.

[/ QUOTE ]

He can say whatever he wants but why does god only get credit for a win, can we start blaming him for losses?
I did everything I could to win but god didn't give me enough ability for tonight, he really let me down.

Yes. You are supposed to be one of the best players in the world and you can't beat average junior high kids at one of tasks that you know you are going to have to do every game? This would be as bad as a physics professor who couldn't multiply two digit numbers.
