My main point was that you actually need to be at work. You can't just lay in your own filth on a park bench all day. Sort of like a homeless person with responsibility thrown in. Makes it much tougher to be homeless.

Let's just hope it isn't a sales position.

I live off about 5k every three months.

rent: 400 x 3 = 1,200.
gas: 100 x 3 = 300

3.5k is plenty for me in three months to spend on food alone. Sometimes I feel like I'm spending too much money.

There is no question 2.5k in four months is doable. Share an apt at a cheaper place for 200/month. That's 800. 1.7k on food for four months? Ramen are still 10 cents a pack and boiled water isn't that expensive.

I'd rather make 200K per year and comfortably retire after 10 years with 2M in the bank.

And i assume this is why the poster asked this question.
EV is not always the only thing in live.

For those who would take the crap salary to begin, at what wage would you choose the other option?

So in 10 years you will have 2m in the bank. This means that you are living off of $0 per year to earn your $2m.
$2500 aint much but it is still > $0
