Re: HIgh Stakes Poker 4 thread (8/27)
Jennifer Tilly wouldn't have lost all that money on the 7 2 hand. She would have put him on pocket kings.

That Brian Brandon guy seems like a tool. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. Who the hell is he to say an 11-time bracelet winner has finally earned respect? Haha. What a joke. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] can't believe no one mentioned this gem from esfandiari: "I love America, if my Dad didn't move here I'd be shooting guns or riding camels" [/ QUOTE ] I like Antonio, and that was funny, the first four times I heard him say it. [/ QUOTE ] I caught him saying something on one of the reruns. Something like: "We Persians are the luckiest people on the Earth... except for our government... and basic human rights..." [/ QUOTE ] he's from Iran not persia, he always calls himself persian. thats like someone from Mexico saying they are aztec. |

he's from Iran not persia, he always calls himself persian. thats like someone from Mexico saying they are aztec. [/ QUOTE ] 50 years ago it was still Persia. And racially, they consider themselves Persians, very much separate from those who live on the Arabian Peninsula, some of whom are Arab, some of whom are Bedouin, and some of whom are Chaldean. And all of which are racially very different from the Turks or Egyptians. Go to Iran and call any man you see an Arab. If all he does is spit on you, you got off lucky. It's like mistaking an Irishman for an Englishman, or a Greek for a Turk - Those sorts of things still buy you an ass-kicking in some parts of Dublin & Athens. Or how Canadians get pissed off when someone calls them an American. Yes, they are north Americans, but they know that's not what the other guys meant. I'm very sure Antonio is happy his dad moved his family to the States, and I'm sure that poker is far from the top of the list of reason's why. |

[/ QUOTE ] Mexicans refer to themselves as Hispanic, and when Iranians refer to themselves as Persians, they are referring to their ethnic group (race). Although most inhabitants from the middle-east are Arab, there are three countries who's main ethnic group is not Arab. Israel, Turkey, and Iran. Nuts someone else payed attention in history class. =/ |

[ QUOTE ] The guy paid the damage waiver, he got his money's worth. If you don't like it, then you can be the guy who turns down the -EV damage waiver, so it doesn't impact you. Sound good? It isn't his job to ensure low premiums for everyone else. He paid the waiver, he can do what he wants. Also, it was hilarious. [/ QUOTE ] You have a very interesting interpretation of what insurance is and what it allows you to do, though I'm afraid it won't hold up in court when insurers sue you for fraud. [/ QUOTE ] Then I'm sure Harlabos is regretting his actions and hiring lawyers as we speak. OH WAIT no he isnt. |
