I don't know surfers, but I will say that one of my strongest reactions to this show is that the actors playing them (especially the boy) appear really awful. That kid barely registers any emotion. On the other hand, I also understand that he is an actual surfer, so perhaps that is how they seem in real life.

As for the series, I give it two more episodes before I probably lose interest. At this point, I think it's still possible that I may grow to like some of the characters. But I need to see that the plot will move forward in some discernible direction, other than just weirdness.

Great episode. I'm a little confused though...

That might have been the most exhausting episode of television I've ever seen. Loved it.

make a new thread for new episodes, it's easier to follow and easier for people to post their comments

Way better than last week, although I'm not too keen on the explanation for RdM being such an annoying bitch.

I love this show!

So many things happen that I am not understanding and they are not yet explaining but I don't feel lost.

John's monologue at the end... wow. I'm going to have to re-watch that a few times.

Also, John's towel-head comment from a couple eps back was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time.

Man, I think I really liked that.

It will take like 3 re-watchings to get everything.

The bit with the sax was funny, because IIRC on the Deadwood commentary DM said that the actor reminded him of this old school sax player type (or perhaps he really is and I don't RC).

Cas is so [censored] adorable.

The kid that plays Shaun might be the worst actor in the history of time.
