How come I can't vote for Jay Cutler being the better pro?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because he wasn't as successful in college.

[/ QUOTE ]

Take into account the low scoring SEC environment, and how overmatched his teammates were... his college stats look pretty damned good.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry I didn't realize his goal was to put up stats. They only won 5 out of 11 games.

He wasn't as successful.

[/ QUOTE ]

lolol

Cutler>Leinart>>>>>Young.

Not close? I also thought Leinhart was a better prospect, but it is tough to disregard Young's talent.

[/ QUOTE ]

As a current USC student, I've convinced myself that Vince Young is the poor man's Mike Vick.

Because it is not part of the poll.

This is a really bad argument.

[/ QUOTE ]

A bad arguement for what? If you want a poll with Cutler make one. My poll is for quarterbacks who won in college and have a good chance of doing so in the pros. If Cutler is so great he could have gone to a school with more talent and won more games. Leinart had more talent around him than Young did, but Texas still won the Rose Bowl.

College QB Wins don't correlate well with NFL success. What does correlate is games started (cutler started 4 years) and completion percentage (which, once you adjust cutler's for not having first round running backs, offensive linemen, wide receivers, and tight ends is pretty good)

There are countless examples of pretty good players going to pretty bad programs. Trent Green (Indiana), Jake Delhomme (University of Louisiana-Lafayette), Steve McNair (Alcorn State), Ben Roethlisberger (Miami-OH), Byron Leftwich (Marshall), and that's just current programs.

I wouldn't say Leinart necessarily had more talent around him.

Or a player to whom he is sometimes compared, Brett Favre (Southern Miss).

Vince Young--slower, less athleticisim than Michael Vick...does not have the mobility of Vick. Worse footwork, throwing motion than Vick. Worse deep ball and arm strength than Vick. Worse at reading defenses than Vick.

Marcus Vick is a poor mans Michael Vick

Vince Young is a poor man's Daunte Culpepper/Akili Smith.
