I don't think we're ahead of a rring range... although villain's crappy raise suggests that he's a donkey, so maybe he actually is reraising small after a raise and two callers with AQ.

I don't know why you think you're deep here, though, wpr... the pot's got like 5k in it after you call the raise, and you've only got 8k left in your stack.

Anyway, I like the way you played it. I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a flop verse this small rr with AKs. I don't see any other way to play the flop.

His preflop re-raise is so small. he's facing T600 and two cold callers and he re-raises to T1600 when he's only got ~T11500. From a lot of players, I think that this screams AA, KK. The only problem is that a lot of players will re-raise this amount with weaker re-raising hands like JJ, TT, AQ. I think that this is why a read here would be very helpful. In the absence of a read, I think I push preflop.

As you played it, I think that a push on the flop is good. You have a little bit of FE (he's getting just over 2 to 1). You know that even in the worst case scenario you're drawing to at least 8 outs. You even have a backdoor straight draw.

(let me guess... he had JJ)

No he thought about it for awhile and then folded. No way JJ would ever fold here.

I thought it was still fairly deep stacked and didn't want to gamble here....

But nano seconds later when the flop came, you were willing to gamble even though you didn't hit (bar a draw)?

I push preflop too but I also push the flop as you did

If I remember correctly I think it was near the bubble. Maybe like 5 or 6 away. I thought it would be better to see a flop then race pre.

There's 3.5K in there preflop, and our stack is 10K. I don't see why we shouldn't push, I am not at all convinced that villain has a premium pair when he makes this donktastic raise.

the SB is raising from 600 to 1600 after a 3BB raise and 2 cold-callers. i'm opting on the side of caution here and saying he has something he likes.
