Hand #2

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero (t4380)
SB (t1860)
BB (t2985)
UTG (t4275)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t1225</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to t2985</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t4260

I had to bet with this right? 4 handed on the button I jsut don't see how I could not try to steal the blinds. And was I right to fold after the push by BB?

Everytime you put in a raise which is about +40% of the stacks of the players still to act two questions arise:

1) Do you want them to call or even reraise?
2) Do you want to fold if they reraise?

I think with your hand ATo, you neither want them to call nor reraise. You want them to fold and take down the blinds. Thus, it is much better to push here and not giving them funny ideas.

You are unsure whether to call or fold the reraise. So am I. You just don't know whether your are being played at or if they have a monster. Again, a push would have put away all the funky plays.

Now just think that you had AA or KK and answer the questions above...

Thanks for the responses. Anyone have SNGPT to punch in Hand #2 and see what it says?

The mere fact that you want to run it through SnGPT tells you that the hand plays now more difficult than as if you had just pushed. You don't need Sngpt to know that it is a clear push.

It is a clear push even if their calling range is 100%
