From what to what? And why? I really don't see much reason to do it, unless you are trying to get into showbusiness or trying to distance yourself from your father and his last name or whatever. Its actually kind of cool to go find a list of celebrities' real names, some of them are pretty funny. In these cases it definitely makes sense to change your name.

A couple of reasons: I hate my last name, and I'm not telling. Not close to my dads side of the family at all. I'm really close to my moms side of the family and there was only 1 son, but he died w/o children. So I want to carry on their name.
