DONK BET!!!!!!

Throw in a handful of chips without declaring a raise (this is a call, BTW) and then say "But I wanted to BLUFF" when the TD makes you pull all but $30K back. . .

If you throw in enough chips for a raise, it's a raise. The rule you are talking about only applies if you throw one chip out.

Sure know now that I really did play it badly. I decided that, as the short stack, I needed to double up and this was going to be the time to do it. I also decided that he would probably fold about 70% of the time if I pushed so I just limped and checked the flop of 10D, 9S, and 7D but happily called all in when villan pushed. Turns out that he was "stealing" with the 6-2 of diamonds and hit a 4 flush + a gut shot. He was an 83 to 17 dog before the flop but improved to 59 to 41 after according to twodimes.net. Rivered a diamond and I was done and lost lots of sleep last night agonizing over my play. Thanks for your help.

It's not even close. You'd be raising 40K into a 45K pot, and getting a call, because any half-serious player is NOT going to try and steal a blind from a short stack with the raise that will essentially pot-commit the raiser.

If you push, he calls.

Even with 6-2 o/s.

Good point. I agree.

I was wondering about the "small NLHE event ON TV" and the "minor suit Aces".

I say push because your M is only 4 after calling, so you have to basically put your fate in this hand for now. You won't get any better. If he folds then he folds, but you profit his 30K plus the SB.

the "small nlhe on TV" was described that was because it will be shown only in Phoenix and the initial buy in was $330 so no "names" were attracted.

"minor suit" is a bridge term. Diamonds and clubs are the minor suits and spades and hearts are the "Major Suits"
Thanks for the reply
