[ QUOTE ] After he donks the turn, I don't think you can assume an uknown live LA player will value bet an A. He will most likely check behind and hope his A7o is good. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I am like 0-1000 trying to river sexy live. [/ QUOTE ]I agree with the above statements. Only players like me don't bet these rivers. Just bet it. |

I'd be more inclined to get for a check-raise if it was my regular game against people I play with often. This will act to keep them wary against you on the river. I'm not sure that going for a check-raise has greater EV here than simply betting out (might he have a busted flush draw that he would bet if you check?); probably not. But from a metagame perspective it is good to havce them fear you check-raising the river.

Yeah, I agreed with the majority here and bet the river. He called instantly with Ax. But I did contemplate a sexy and was wondering what situations might be right for it; guess this wasn't one of them.
Andy is on the right track with it being about metagame and getting your opponents to fear c/r so they fail to value bet when you're weak. Unfortunately, I just don't play against the same people often enough live to get into this. I play about 12 hrs/week at 5 different casinos. The chances of having repeat opponents is therefore slim. |

btw, why do you play at so many different places? There is probably a best one (commerce?) so why not play there full time?

Actually, I think the best yellow chip games are at Hollywood Park and Hawaiian Gardens. But occasionally I feel like playing the Hustler 15, which is very good, and of course there are many occasions where going to Commerce is the thing -- friends are there, the 20/40 game selection is very big, etc. I dunno, I like to mix it up. You get fresh faces, different menus for food, different chips to play with, etc. It keeps live play interesting, stops it from becoming routine and boring. |

Nope, you have represented a bluff or a king, so he will check down hands like underpairs to the K that he probably calls if you bet. He may even check down Ax.

If you play and adjust better and faster than your opponents, it makes sense to play the same people over and over.
