I just finished a class on serial murder, taught by a guy who developed a ground breaking profiling technique. It was fascinating.

I took Astronomy 101 my freshmen year. My instructor specialized in black holes. One day he said put the text down, I'm going to tell you about some of my current research. He lost me about half way through the 75 minute lecture.

[/ QUOTE ] Great flick- ![]() In my areas of study, I enjoyed reading Freud's early stuff (Moses & Monotheism for example, Freud is a nutjob but had alot of original thinking and was, at least, thought provoking), some "headier" philosophy type crap (like DeMan, Foucault) and Labor Econ and Industrial Econ classes. Outside of my majors, I really got alot out of urban planning / design type classes. When I moved to LA I read "City of Quartz" and was glad to know some about the topic before reading it. -Al |

I think the books "Elegant Universe" and "Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene are the most interesting books I've ever read. They deal with a possible Unified Field Theory called String theory
