I'm just not sure if asking for a woman is "rude" or not.

at a sports med clinic the rules may be different since they are concerned w/ rehabbing injuries instead of making a customer feel good/de-stress.

at a spa or massage specialist joint they ask you if you have a preference, and from here on out my response will be 'yes, female please'

Even if you have no problem with getting a massage from a man, I don't see how any straight man wouldn't "prefer" a woman.

Agreed. Unless the woman has a bad odor or something, I enjoy a woman's touch. A man's touch I'm at best indifferent about, and that's on a really good day. Frankly, if most of them fell off the edge of the earth, it would take me a while to remember I was supposed to find that sad, and longer to maybe feel it.

Nothing personal, quite the contrary. Y'all are awright. But that doesn't make ya women.

I've had a ton of massages rehabbing a back injury and I always asked for a woman. Nobody ever gave me any grief or even acted like it was at all weird. I just don't want some dude rubbing on my back.

It doesn't matter. I've gotten massages from men and women. The best I have had was from the biggest Mexican dude I've ever seen, while on vacation. I find having a woman do it more relaxing but I haven't had one that really turned me to jello. Either one is great.

To those of you who are fixated on the gayness of a dude rubbing you down: grow up.

I don't know that it's fixation so much as enjoyment. I just enjoy a woman's touch more. It's not necessarily sexual at all, but it is sensual. Ignoring this part of the pleasure of a massage seems silly to me.

If I were worrying about rehabilitation or something like Rolfing, it might be quite different. But when it's about enjoyment, I doubt a man's strength, or even strength and skill combined, can replace the pleasure of a woman's touch for most guys, unless the woman is just lousy.

I'm not shy about taking my small, silly pleasures where I find them, and enjoying them to the hilt. I also find getting my hair washed when I'm getting a haircut a very sensuous enjoyable experience. If I could get my hair washed by a woman for an hour a day, that would be fine with me.

Touching is more than professional, clinical, medical. Touching is sensual. That is all.

Blarg,

If I ever get retarded rich, I'm hiring a woman to wash my hair every damned day. It is one of the best simple pleasures in life. A scalp massage during the process is a small slice of heaven.

shajen,

you and I have the same idea. A shampoo and scalp massage is total heaven and should never be passed up. One of the best Committed episodes had Marni raving about her hairgasm.

Either way, you should be sure to chose a combination analyst / therapist.

Their work is groundbreaking.
