5 main reasons people don't win in SSNL, IMO:

1. Going to far with marginal hands
2. Drawing with improper odds
3. Slowplaying too much
4. Bluffing too much
5. Not understanding the concept of pot control and WA/WB

Just my opinion, but these are the common mistakes I see losing players make night in and night out.

Nice list. 1-3 are especially common to all varieties of fish. 4 is my achilles heel.

All good, but I'd add:-

6. Under betting with strong hands. I guess it's kind of related to 3 (slowplay too much), but to me slowplay is disguising your hand by playing passively rather than making a girly 1/4 PSB bet with TPTK.

Pre-flop:
Play strong hands and play in position. Don't cold call raises with marginal hands (reraise or fold most hands).

[/ QUOTE ]

This is true in limit, but not in NL.
I flat call all the time, far more than I reraise.

NL works off of "implied odds", which I why you'll see me calling preflop raises with small pocket pairs and other hands that can hit a flop hard but are easy to dump if they miss.

6. Playing the wrong hands to begin with (K4o but not 87s).

7. Playing way too passively. Check/calling all the time.

8. No thought about what you have. No thought about what you think they have.
