pointless line.

3 bet the flop. Are you betting the turn because you're excited that the diamond draw didn't come through? I don't get it.

I like your play here. What's your play if UTG raises?

The only reason to not 3 bet the flop is if you plan on C/Ring the Turn. The SNG does neither except add a little deception.

*old post deleted*

After thinking about this, I realized that I want to three-bet the flop. While there are some similarities to this hand and the TT from "Two overpair hands" in SSH the big problem is that you are out of position. If you knew that by not three betting the flop villain would raise the turn again I'd consider the stop and go a reasonable option.

In this case, we can't guarantee villain will raise the turn so you may as well put in as much money as you can now.

Your position sucks on this. The two diamonds and 98 make me nervous. I want to drive people out as fast as possible. However, on the flop, MP1 has already coldcalled once, so I don't think a 3-bet is running anyone off here. However, I'm not sure that waiting until the turn and bigger bets is any better because of your position. A check-raise probably just keeps adding to the big pot and keeping everyone involved to the showdown.

Since I'm not sure you can protect here at all, I think I three-bet the flop for value and bet out on the turn. If UTG raises and MP1 folds, then I check-call the river unless I spike a 10.
