This looks pretty easily compatible with party format, but i'm not making the prog if PT Pat is going to come out with support for this site tomorrow.

I'm a programmer by trade and am pretty familiar with the PT database structure. This definitely can be done (like you said, I don't know if this violates the PT licenee or not). Are you looking for something that's automated?

Right. You only get to see your OWN hole-cards via the HH.
Anybody else's hole-cards aren't shown at all. So just trying to change it all to look like a Party HH wouldn't work because I think there might be all these errors of, "unable to determine winning player's hole-cards" and stuff like that. But even with the HH's as is....if Pat worked on it he could at least make it semi-funnctional with his software for tracking session wins/losses and stuff like that. My guess is that because of the bad format of the HH's and Pat's initial reluctance to work with WPEX in the first place means we aren't going to see any WPEX/PTracker marriage anytime in the near future. |

The more automated the better. But some work is OK. (For example I can run a program in a text file that would do the conversion, then load the new text file)
Not seeing other players cards is not as important to me as seeing mine. I could still see my results (though you would not know what you lost to except maybe one of the cards?) |

I'm not even sure if this is allowed. But I asked on the PT site and Pat has no plans to get WSEX.com hands loadable into PT. [/ QUOTE ] For what it's worth, I think you guys should just learn to play poker without having to rely on these software programs. I've never used them, and I have no desire to. It just might improve your game. |

I just started to look at the HHs and from what I see it could be done.
I'll take a shot at it and see what I can do. The only problem is that I will have to do it in MSAccess so you will need to install the Access runtime if you don't have Access on your computer. I should be able to create HHs files directly from your e-mail. So, should I give it a try? Don't want to spend my time doing it and find that someone else has already done it. |

Another problem is requesting hand histories from wsex every 100 hands or whatever.

True.
Another problem has been brought up that I hadn't noticed. They don't show the pocket cards of the opponents at all - even if they win. All they show is the winning hand itself. This makes it impossible to build any importable hand history. I suppose taht if you want it only for yourself and not in order to study other players then there should really be no problem. I can just put in dummy cards in place of the missing ones. |

That should be fine.
We could still get players stats right? VPIP, Won% etc. Just wouldn't see the actual cards. [Edited to add - [Yes we would still have to request hands and then get them from email somehow*] *Making a text file from email is not the end of the world. What I do is keep the 'Statistics' thing open. [It's the % icon] and when I get up to about 90 hands I send a request for HH's and reset the statistics. |

Send me some sample HH files and I will build a converter, it will convert the WSEX hand history file to a format that PT is programmed to read (say UB or Stars, etc.)
So basically I'm picturing a program that accepts as input a .txt file with WSEX hand histories and as it's output produces a .txt file with those same hand histories in a new format. Those new .txt files could then be run into PT. I can code something like this easily and will do so tonight... if anyone wants me to, or is someone else alreayd doing this? I need sample hand histories for limit and NL ring games (that's a good start for now) |
