Secondly, Roger was a fat [censored] with the Red Sox, and then he joins the Yankees and starts these insane workouts that no one else on the Yankees can keep up with.

wrong

either that--or sports illustrated, espn, and every other media outlet just decided to start chronicling his workout regimine after he leaves the red sox and starts pitching well for the jays and yanks as he goes beyond his prime.

Wouldn't you feel dirty winning a WS with roger?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was your age when Roger was in Boston, and he was the first player that autographed something for me. I had trouble with him on the Yankees, but all is forgiven and I blame Dan Duquette and old mangement than Roger.

I would love for him to finish up in Boston.

[/ QUOTE ]

Roger hates Boston for what they did to him and is much more likely to sign with NY. He has nothing but happy memories with the Yankees and is much more likely to win a World Series with them.

[/ QUOTE ]

*much* more?

also, you do realize that when roger left boston there was a different GM/MGR/OWNER/BATBOY/STADIUM DESIGN?

[/ QUOTE ]

Mike, you are a better hand reader than this, with a statement like that, it's obvious that he is oblivious to what I've said here, never mind bigger things like that.

ahhh okay.

correct me if im wrong though, that despite the talent, he did not have brady or bird type makings of a boston legend?? didn't he have more of a ted williams thing going with the media?

I'd be insanely happy if he came back to the Yankees. I would cry tears of joy if he came back and won another WS with them.

If he went back to the sox it would be an understatement to say I would be very pissed off. I dont really hold his retire/go back to houston decision against him but if he went back to boston it would be totally different.

you were wrong in saying he went to the NYY and started working out. he had much better seasons in TOR than in NY.

also, his last 3 seasons with boston were noticeably better than his time with NY. his workout regimen was still sick when he was with boston, it just wasnt as noteworthy since he was young.

dan duqette made a decision that based on rogers previous seasons with boston he wasnt worth the money he was asking for. it turns out he was wrong, life goes on. the red sox get pedro martinez (who has been the better pitcher the last 10 years, easily) and clemens moves on. not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.

Is there a reason he wants to leave Houston?

All I know is that I drafted this guy in hopes that he'd play somewhere this year, so he'd like... better.
