[ QUOTE ]
What do you consider players like Lebron/Kobe/Tmac, are they 3s or 4s.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a joke, right?

None of those guys has ever been considered a 4. Kobe has always been recognized as a 2, while Lebron and Tmac are point forwards, just like Pippen was, and can play either the 1, 2 or 3 slot.

Sorry 2s or 3s. My bad, I'm tired. Swing guys, SG or SF are essentially the same thing in today's NBA. I kinda group all of these guys together:

Pierce, T-mac, Lebron, Wade, Kobe when it comes to the premier swing (2s/3s) players.

Kobe is not a swing player. He has never been considered one.

Look at the numbers Wilt Chamberlain put up. They actually invented rules to stop him from scoring. On baseline inbounds plays, they used to lob the ball over the backboard to him for any easy catch and bucket. So the NBA changed the rule and said that the ball going over the backboard was out of bounds. They widened the lane so he couldn't post up as close. Jordan, on the other hand, like all the small players, benefitted from rules changes on illegal defense, which spread out the defense and gave him lanes to drive.

Wilt was averaging 50 points per one season and had 22 rebounds a game for his career. He even led the league in assists one year with over 900. To me, it's a decision between Wilt and Kareem, and any list that rates Jordan ahead of Wilt overrates him.

Wilt
Games 1,045
FG% .540
FT% .511
Rebs 23,924
RPG 22.9
Asts 4,643
APG 4.4
Pts 31,419
PPG 30.1

Sure, and Wilt played against a bunch of crappy midgets not named Bill Russell.

Even using the word Lebron in the same sentence as Jordan is a diservice.

If Kobe learns to play better D, stops being an [censored] who only cares about himself, and learns to play team ball instead of me ball, adds another 3 championships without a big man..then you can compare the two.

Kobe and Dwade are the only two players who have any shot of being Jordanesque. but I highly doubt Kobe will ever win another championship

"If Kobe learns to play better D"

Kobe's a damned fine defender.

"stops being an [censored] who only cares about himself, and learns to play team ball instead of me ball,"

This is different from Jordan how?

"adds another 3 championships without a big man..then you can compare the two."

Come on. Jordan's teammates were so much better than Kobe's, and this isn't because of Jordan. Most of these players played just as well or better after leaving Chicago. Hell, Toni Kukoc those years would be the third best player on the Lakers teams that won the championship.

Kukoc, Cartwright, Armstrong, Kerr, Rodman, Buechler, Harper, Grant, Longley, Caffey, etc. All of these guys played crucial roles in the championship run and all of these guys were better players than most of the options on the Laker teams that won the championship. These guys also had comparable or better years on other teams.

The idea that Jordan made these guys so much better is unfounded, imo.

The 17% that voted "yes" need to be banned.
