Like others, I don't think betting this turn is very good. With what hand is button CC the flop? A flushdraw or a T. So why is betting this turn good? Also, when you check the turn and button bets and utg calls, how bad is just folding?

[/ QUOTE ]

That board sucks now, just fold. PF 3-bet is g00t.

tubasteve8,
I assume you agree with my post?

I would like to hear from people who are betting the turn if they think it is for value.

I agree that I may sound like some weak-tight [censored], but just trying something not so standard here

And yes, pf is standard.

I think you have to bet the turn. Seems like a pretty easy fold to a raise

I also think you should bet the turn here. When you check the turn and button bets, who knows what is going on? I'd rather bet. You have a flush draw now which will hold up if it comes in a fair amount of the time.

If you get raised on the turn, call it and you can check/fold the river if you don't pick up another 9 or [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. If you do pick either up, just check/call the river in case a bigger flush came in or check/fold maybe if it comes back two to you if UTG check/raises.

Why is everyone so confident we are behind? There are a fair number of bets in the pot (like almost 8), and everyone is so confident that we are crushed here that we should fold? I don't really get it. Poor players could easily have something worse than a T or flush here. I'm not expecting to win a huge percentage of the time, but I'm expecting to win often enough to merit putting in another bet into the pot, and I think there are a ton of reasons why it makes more sense to put that bet in as a bet rather than a check-call.

If we were less vulnerable to overcards/flushes, or if we had a stronger draw, I could understand an argument for checking the turn, and maybe then checking the river and calling but not overcalling or something like that here. But a free card is not something we are going to be wanting to give here. Our flush draw isn't good often enough, and tons of cards could come that kill us. If we get raised on the turn, we may have an easy fold if the EP players overcalls. If he doesn't we might consider peeling one to our flush draw and bet-folding the river if we hit.

I just think that giving up in a greater than 7 BB pot with one overcard and a three-flush in a three-way pot because "the board has gotten scary" is way too tight weak. I have absolutely zero confidence that we can fold this hand comfortably on this turn to one bet without a better read.

I'm a 6max beginner.
Difficult hand. Think I would have check folded the turn when button bet out after that flop cold call. Might be to weak a play

I'm bumping this because this hand makes me think I'm an aggro [censored] and no one has given me even close to an explanation why this turn is a check-fold...

I mentioned folding the turn, but I was talking about as played.

I'd agree that we should lead the betting, with the caveat that we're folding to a raise.
