Re: NL50: AA 3 way on scary flop board facing pot size AI and a call
I don't think either play is right or wrong. It probably depends on your image and any reads, failing that i guess it depends whether you like to ride the variance wave or not.
I could fold this one day and call it the next. I think if losing big pots rattle you, you should probably fold, as even if it is breakeven one way or the other you don't want to tilt/get annoyed which may affect the reast of your session. In general, i would tend towards a fold here, but don't hate the shove |

[ QUOTE ] UTG+1's call says he has no interest in isolating shortie and wants your stack in the pot. [/ QUOTE ] How can you know this? How come it doesn't mean he's drawing? How come it doesn't mean he's got Queens and doesn't want to put too much money in the middle. He could have a set and be trapping, no doubt. But nothing about his action so far tells us that for sure. [/ QUOTE ] utg+1 has put 40% of his stack into this pot.... do you think he is going to fold to a shove? |

I fold here. UTG+1's call says he has no interest in isolating shortie and wants your stack in the pot. Aside from that, the situation is marginal at best and you've only got 10% of your stack in at this point. [/ QUOTE ] But maybe UTG+1 is so tight-weak, he raised JJ/QQ preflop and now this board is scary to him too. He don't want to fold but he don't want to raise also. And he decided to call shortie allin and fold to any raise. Also he may be drawing - 77/TT. I would shove here. |

But I think it's possible for him to fold Queens or Jacks to a shove here, 40% or not (not that we'd want him to lol). When we shove, our hand is faceup as Aces or Kings. I've seen people fold Kings face up preflop getting 3.5 to 1 on their money. It's not a super-stretch for UTG+1 to have Queens here and muck them to a shove. |

Re: NL50: AA 3 way on scary flop board facing pot size AI and a call
If UTG+1 puts that much of his stack in with the intention of folding to a shove, it's horrendous. If he puts you on a pair higher than his, he can get out cheap. If he thinks you're on AK, he can shove to isolate the SS. While it's certainly possible that UTG+1 is making a terrible play, the chance that he's calling to keep you in, coupled with how marginally +EV a shove is, make me fold.

Re: NL50: AA 3 way on scary flop board facing pot size AI and a call
The two villains cold called a re-raise. This strongly suggests AK, QQ, JJ, TT, not straightening cards. The flush draw is possible, but even still IMHO this is a shove.

Re: NL50: AA 3 way on scary flop board facing pot size AI and a call
I ended up pushing. Many of you were right on here with my analysis that TT-QQ and AK would play this way. One had TT and the other JJ. The small stack hit a gut shot for a straight and the big stack called. Luckily i won some money.
