Re: 50NL AQ flopped top pair, what would you guys have done differentl
It seems hopeful to me at best that your tpgk is ahead of both villains with one of them being viewed as tight. We are pretty much hoping one has QK and the other a draw?

Re: 50NL AQ flopped top pair, what would you guys have done differentl
I am not sure how I feel about checking the turn either.
If you consider the remaining stack sizes there is pretty much only 1 pot-sized bet remaining. If the money doesn't go in on the turn it'll probably go in on the river. As played I like the flop raise, and I think I like the turn shove as I'd rather be betting here than calling. PF 3 betting the tight UTG player will help you narrow her hand range and gives you a good chance of getting you into a heads-up situation after the flop; which I guess is favorable for a hand like AQo. The stack sizes are awkward though, pretty tough to get away from this one in IMO. |

Re: 50NL AQ flopped top pair, what would you guys have done differentl
It's quite feasible they both have a draw.
Hard to put UTG on AK given his flop play. He can easily have a worse ace (although again his flop play would suggest not). Looks like he has something like KQdd, or is being donkish with a set. I've also seen plenty of players unable to let go of KK postflop when an ace flops because 'OMG I HAVE KK!' Not saying you're always ahead here on the turn, but plenty of times you will be and giving a free card is criminal. |

I don't understand why we'd pot control here unless by pot control you mean give up. The board is really drawy now, giving a free card to a draw at this point is not a good idea. They also only have 1 pot size bet each. I can certainly see an argument for assuming we are behind and planning to fold to a river bet, but if we plan on calling then getting the money in now is much better IMO.

Thanks for all your replies and insight, anymore replies are more than welcome. I'll give you guys the results now though.
Results in white below: Hero has Qs Ac (two pair, aces and queens). UTG has 9s 9h (three of a kind, nines). Outcome: UTG wins $48.55. Hero wins $17.85. |
