Thanks for all the replies. But guys, I dont want to make it sound like I sit there waiting for AA-KK or to simply flop sets. Thats not it at all. What I am emphasizing is, you wont see me stick a 3 bet in preflop with rags. You wont see me make a 3 barrel bluff. I wont call a guy with A high just to see if Im right. Im not a nit....but as I said when it all gets in there my competition is almost always running uphill.

well if you get it in good every time that is great...although that could mean you aren't calling enough on the river if you always win when you get to showdown

The caveat to your situation is this - when you're playing against villains who pay you off regardless of your image at the table then playing standard ABC TAG is just fine. When you find that you're playing in games with more competent players you have to switch out of the ABC TAG mode and mix it up a bit, otherwise people will not pay you off because you're viewed as a nit.
It's all about creating an image and exploiting that image. If you're playing against people who don't even consider your hand ranges or your image then making moves against them is pointless because they are playing solely on the strength of their own cards. That's why they say it's pointless to play any more than one level beyond your opponents ability to think. If they aren't thinking about your hands... you can't think about what range they are assigning you because they aren't even assigning you a range. If your opponents are of the variety that consider what range of hands you can be holding it becomes more important to mix it up so that it is more difficult to read your hands and also so that you create enough doubt in their minds that you get paid off with your big hands. |

its possible that you dont make as much as you could, but if you are winning, are happy with your game and dont really want to change for any reasson other than some anonymous forum told you to, theres really no reason to make any changes.
that said i will say this. 3000 hours live is about 10k hands. not very long term, unfortunately. some people here play that in a week. |
