You have position, and because you raised he'll frequently be allowing you to take the lead on the turn. Meaning you can check behind and see how the river unfolds.

What if he bets again after I raise the flop?

It doesn't make much sense to call the turn and then fold to a river bet.

Raise flop as the maniac will hang around with draws and worse tens. If he shoves I fold. If he calls and leads turn again I fold. If he calls and checks turn, you check too and evaluate river.
