River was irrelevant, he had 3$ behind and when he bet 1$ i was sure I was behind.
My concern was the turn bet, why would he bet 2$ into 27 and then flat call my 20$?
Do you always go broke set over set? Because that's what I was afraid of.

Why? If you've seen him do this with sets ten times prior and never with anything else, that makes sense, but anything other than that makes this read magic.

I go broke set over set for 100BB. I ALWAYS ALWAYS "go broke" set over set for 35BBs, especially in spots like this and it's not close. I know you probably lost the hand and it sucks. It's a cooler though. Make a note and move on. Being afraid of the nuts when you have the second nuts is such a value killer and you leave a TON of money on the table playing this way.
