Re: Stud hi - playing straighty & flushy hand
I think the completion on third is fine. If you never raise with a three-flush, you'll be too readable, which might not be a problem at this level. I like the raise on fourth. You've definitely got value there. I wouldn't raise fifth, as big as your draw is. You're a solid dog against trip Aces, and that's opponent's most likely hand. Once you hit the num-nums, never stop raising. No one is going to be quick to put you on a straight flush. Almost anyone is going to lose the maximum with Aces-full.

How can you be sure that he has trip aces? I think limp-reraising with aces on 3rd is a pretty weird play. [/ QUOTE ] Don't be too quick to assume that you are playing against a razz/stud player. Many of your opponents are coming from a holdem background and will play the other games in a manner similar to their holdem experience. This is very evident in some of the strange Omaha 8 hands that you see being played. |

Re: Stud hi - playing straighty & flushy hand
I probably woulda just folded on 3rd when he limp/raised me. There's not much in the pot, he's showing strength, & you're HU with a flush draw & gutshot. I would prefer to play this hand multiway.

[/ QUOTE ] you are getting 3.5:1 on the call after he raises. There are 9 hearts out there to hit that you wouldnt mind taking to the river. There are also 3 tens that could very well win you the pot on 4th. I am just not seeing a fold on 3rd here. |
