[/ QUOTE ] You don't have to have the chip seller do the hotstamping. It's possible, though not very likely, that there could be a local place that could do it cheaper. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The guys who run it (me included) have no interest in a "rake", but we do want to make the tournament bigger in both number of players and total prize pool. Also, we would like to go even bigger at some point, perhaps over a hundred people. [/ QUOTE ] Why, and why? [/ QUOTE ] Because many friends/co-workers want to play and because there is a charity involved; those are the main reasons anyway. [/ QUOTE ] Oh, okay. I can't help you with the hiring part, though I know there are a number of companies that do casino nights, bar poker tourneys, etc. Search the web, they should be easy to find. Make sure it's legal for your charity to have a poker tourney as a fundraiser! As to the home game- one idea if you have eqpt limits- do it like the WSOP ME and spread out stages over various days. First night, play down from 24 to 8 players. Second night, a brand new 24 play down to 8, etc. Then the final tables can play the winning 24 players down to whatever prize pool. Of course, this means you have to host without being able to play.... but the cash games for knockouts on each night should be good! :P |
