Barry said on PokerRoad radio that it's 90% likely Annie Duke will be testifying rather than him. She can be extremely articulate. Barry said she and Vanessa Rousso were the best talkers amongst the poker pros attending the PPA conference.

Any policy experts want to comment on the likelihood of this happening? My gut tells me Barry is being overly optimistic but it's been a while since I've seriously followed politics.

C'mon now. We can just attach it to a port security bill or something.

Hehehehe

I frame my prediction on that Bush won't let anything through, so that's 14-15 months. Generally Congress focuses on budget items at the start of a year and they'll be the new President's priorities out of the gate...which IMO really puts things on hold another 6 months. That's over simplifying obviously, but I think 20-24 months is about the right timeframe if things continue on the track
they are now.

Lots of moving parts and as others have discussed, maybe the WTO stuff will move people more than I think.

IMO only IP sanctions for Antiqua will move Congress. The music and entertainment industry, huge contributors to Dems, will pressure the DEMs to comply so IP sanctions go away.
However, IMO odds of such sanctions being granted are only 50% and 50% chance that WTO wimps out and becomes irrelevant like UN and most international entities.

I don't consider myself much of an expert on anything, but even quick passage of a bill in the House, runs into the Senate Judicary Committee. That is a whole different animal.
