Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Sklansky on Razz recommends to "never stop raising" 4th in a spot like this. [/ QUOTE ] Page # and quote please. [/ QUOTE ] Page 135 in my edition: [ QUOTE ] When the pot is multiway on fourth street you have a situation where if two players have caught good cards and one has caught a bad card, both players who have caught good cards have the best of it even if one hand is slightly better than the other. ...Thus, if the player who catches the bad card is so stubborn as to stay in, you should put him in the middle if possible with your raises even if you have the second best hand. ...[Y]ou should never stop raising until the legal limit has been reached [/ QUOTE ] (edit) - beat to it by TWO posters.... |

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
An addendum to this is that it can be a pretty strong tell with some players, if they would USUALLY raise and re-raise with a 4 card hand here, but they either just call, or lead out and just call your raise. This often means that they do not have a 4 card hand, or their hand is not as strong as it appears (like they have a hidden 9 or T). Obviously this only applies to people who almost always jam with a 4 card hand on 4th here. And obviously some LAGs or observant players will raise here without a 4 card hand sometimes, so the fact that they raise is not a consistent sign.

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
Rusty - the concept is being taken out of context, its not good to apply here. I'll revisit the thread shortly to explain why, not enough time at the moment. Thanks for the page #, I knew of the example but I needed to know where it is in the book to explain why its not applicable. I'll get back to you soon, sorry for the delay.

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
As long as we're quoting Sklansky, I believe he would call a rough 7 a fair hand. If seat 6 is a decent player, his reraise of your reraise on 4th is a bit suspect. I think that going to war with a drunk/tard and a decent player with a good board will only add to the decent player's stack.
Basicly I was thinking "yuck" on every street. |

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
If Seat 6 knows what we know, he'll cap with any 4 card 8 or better.
(Note: if Seat 6 has A234, we STILL have 33% equity and can expect over the long run to get back every bet we put in, at least) |

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
True enough but an 8 or worse 7 is about all that we are ahead of.
edit: seat 6 needs exactly 67 or 8x in the hole. |

I don't care if he has a better hand than me... (see my edit above)

Re: a hand from 1/2 razz
OK, I read your edit. So that would make it 0EV then right?
