Default $16 - AJs late

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

UTG (t1685)
MP (t2685)
Hero (t5995)
SB (t1345)
BB (t1790)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Hero?

Villain seemed competent. Was getting late, and the 500 raise seems like one of 2 things. #1 - he wants someone to push or #2 - he's trying to raise the minimum to steal the blinds w/o min-raising...

Feedback?

500 is a common raise from a good player though. I would probably fold if he is competent & raising through you plus the smaller blinds, especially if they are loose.

I would push on the bubble but here you're 5 handed and villain has a better hand and call you most of the time.

I'd like the push better if he had a much bigger stack.

His stack size is fine, but he is a good player, I don't see him raising wide enough to make this is a shove because of the stack set ups. It's very close though.

id probably shove, are you all not autoshoving AQo? I don't think his range is so close that AJs is taken out of this range by any means. I can see a fold vs certain regs and certain nits definitely but generally shoving is fine.

I think I'd just fold without a goodread he's wide enough and I'd still be pretty tight cos I don't think getting the t800 is that valuable. Folding still leaves us with the chiplead with 3 even stacks and one mid stack who won't be able to do too much.

He could be raising just to get away if you shove and call the blinds but that also means that he won't have air and does the same raise with the best hands too. But if you've been active he's going call fairly loose cos winning would give him the chiplead. So I guess I'd let him have this and take it back later.
