Re: 27$ - 22 itm otb and no idea what to do
I am with Sykes.
In this situation I want to get chips AND be aggressive. Unless you read BB as very wide (i.e. will call with any 2 reasonable cards) you have great fold equity. If BB calls, I think it is likely a race (unless you OTOH read him as very tight...then it goes back to F.E.). Only problem is if BB pushes, then I get out of the way. This does not have to work very often to be profitable. Fammy |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I shove. SB doesn't want to call you with total rags, since there's a chance that BB will call and eliminate you and he will move up. It is still very likely that SB is calling IMO, but that's fine - 22 is gonna be doing just fine against his calling range, and assuming BB folds we're getting a very nice price with the dead money in there. Why is anybody afraid of BB here? He's not calling very often, and even when he does he VERY rarely has a pair. [/ QUOTE ] lol, you're dumb. If bb calls, you're not racing, you're [censored] crushed and you're in a 20/80 situation. I think since this is a $22 and not a $100+ (or even 60+) I make it t1000 and fold to BB push. Only good players in BB will push over this raise with 100%. And 22 against SB calling range can't be any bigger than a 55/45 for you. [/ QUOTE ] You are only crushed if he calls with a pair. You are most likely racing. I raise to 1000, fold to BB push. |

Re: 27$ - 22 itm otb and no idea what to do
If im not mistaken, sense plays enough to know if bb is capable of exploiting his raise here. If he isnt, I think raise > fold > push

Re: 27$ - 22 itm otb and no idea what to do
If BB is any kind of decent player and we make it 1000 and SB folds, then he should be shoving a HUUUUGE range because we'll fold like little girls. Everybody here seems to take the line of raise/fold....well if we're raise/folding with 22 then we're probably doing the same with at least half of our opening range (if not way more), right?
In this situation we're in push/fold mode IMO just because it's so so easy for BB to reshove us with air. The only hands I would open to less than all-in would be hands that I am calling a shove with.....Before somebody calls me an idiot again I realize that this makes my smaller raise very obvious in situations like this, but I'm assuming that this is against an unkown so my "metagame" is not a concern. |

Re: 27$ - 22 itm otb and no idea what to do
Generally people suck far too much to realize they should shove a whole lot here while being the BB.
Raising might actually be best. |

Re: 27$ - 22 itm otb and no idea what to do
[ QUOTE ]
Generally people suck far too much to realize they should shove a whole lot here while being the BB. [/ QUOTE ] imo the bigger problem is that people don't know that they should be pretty tight as the 2nd stack here. Here your raise to 1000 makes the pot pretty big and you need somewhere around 57% to call so it's not that big a deal but in bvb situations ppl call too wide with a short stack around. No one is raise/folding ATo here on the button and cos SB is so short and calling button's raise pretty wide button won't be raising that wide. So BB can't really exploit it even if he knows button should be folding quite a lot. |
