Re: No Limit player looking to learn. Typical mistakes?
I think not value betting the river enough may be something? Since opp is getting much better odds in limit they (and so should u sometimes) will pay off with some pretty crappy hands.

Play more trap hands .
That's not a joke. Beginning hold'em players need to be warned over-and-over about playing dangerous starting hands that make the second best hand and lose big pots. Postflop we tell them to beware cheesy made hands like middle pair and tainted draws like low-end straight on a two-tone flop. I'm here to tell you that as a successful NL player you have overlearned your lesson. Limit players are able to take many more chances with dubious hands because the penalty for being wrong is much lower. Free from the no limit hammer of future bets, a LHE player can play anything. All you need to ensure is that there is enough money in the pot to compensate you for the risk you are running. In practice this means see lots of discounted flops. Find every possible excuse to defend your BB against a single raise. Complete the SB most of the time in a 1/2 structure and virtually always in a 3/5 or 2/3 structure. Postflop take lots of cards off with marginal hands especially last to act. Finally you need to become a calling-station moron when you have a weak made hand in a headsup pot. Do not fold for one more bet when you have anything to show without a really good reason. The bets are small in comparison to the pot size. The mathematics of LHE dictate that frequent folders can and will be run over. |
