Who else does not raise pre flop?
Preflop agression = .11
Here are my thoughts as to why I dont. 1) So I dont get "big pot madness". Yes lots of us here tend to get a little crazy when a big pot comes up. You can win big pots this way but I can get carried away sometimes and it costs. If the pot is not big I tend to make better decisions post flop. 2) I dont mind letting other people in with hands that are likley to be dominated if we both hit. If I have K-J and the other guy has 9-J I dont want to get his blind, I want to put him in a position where we both hit and I get a healthy pot. 3) It gives me a weak-tight image that I like. People try and steamroll me with inferior hands. It also lets me pull off an occasional bluff. I dont expect people to agree. I expect to get flamed. I am not saying for anyone else to do this. I just am wondering how many other people also dont raise pre flop as much as what is recomended, and if they have decent results with it. Just to be clear, I play somewhat agressive post flop. |
