I agree to a certain extent.

I was trying to illustrate that because he would play TP or trips quickly here, he must think he has a good chance of being paid off. Therefore, he can't expect a bluff to work that often.

With his particular bet, it has to work 45% on the flop. However, maybe this bluff get's you paid off more in the future, which is where there is more value with taking the same line with a made hand as you would with a draw or bluff.

i understood what you were saying, but i think there's a common misconception that a good vb spot implies a bad bluffing spot. I was just pointing that out. You're right in that it makes a bluff a bit more marginal in this spot.

I agree with your second point, balancing is important here.
