Another trick that can be deployed here against not so good players is to slightly overbet pot on flop, maybe 5/4 pot. The idea is to make it look like a blatantly obvious c-bet. There are some opponents who will raise you even when they did not intend to c/r otherwise.

I bet the turn. Most mid pairs are not folding also the flush draw will pay more. I think it pays off to try to stack him by betting all streets instead of checking the turn and getting only a portion of his stack. If he was going to bluff you he is more likely to c/r bluff the turn rather than the river.
