This is pretty simple as far as BMW goes, pick all your options price your car out at MSRP and invoice, you can usually get bmw to knock 50% of the markup off, i got both my bmws at about that

[/ QUOTE ]

If I'm understanding what you are saying, then the price that I should be aiming to get is something close to

Invoice + [MSRP-Invoice]/2

Is that correct?

thats about right, if they won't give you that they are dicking you, it's only reasonably to pay sticker/close to it if ther eis a waitlist for the car or it is one of the first few in production

on my 550i there was ~6k worth of markup and i got 3k off that

Another question:

I've heard about people using the Coscto car buying club to purchase vehicles. Anyone have any experience with this? It seems like even if it isn't the best deal it may be a good way to set an initial price point.

On a more general note about buying German cars, my family just purchased some new cars from the VW/Audi dealership we always go to, and the people said there that inventory is much lower than usual because the European companies don't want to send as many cars over here since the dollars is so week. This may or may not be true but keep in mind that you may not get as good of a deal or selection as you may otherwise be used to.
