these events really do suck. pokerstars should break these huge tournaments into two (or more) parts; the first starts on sunday with all the registered players and lasts 8-10 hours, then the tournament will be on break for like 2 hours and after that break the players who are still in will play until the winner is decided.

Uhhh apparently you are sofa king we todd did... because all you said in that statement is that you think somewhere in the tourney there should be a 2 hour break... Could have saved a lot less time saying it ya putz.

Lee Jones was on ... Rounders (?) ... last week, and said that, while he could not state this as fact, he thought PokerStars would move to 2 day events in the future. I know Pokerroom used to run some large tourneys that way.

Ongames Grand Tournament $1000 event are held during several days. First 2 first days (1a friday and 1b saturday - one can play any of those days ) and the players from those are combined into a second day final day(2 sunday).

Sounds like he needs a little perspective in his life. 99% of the people in the world would be more than happy to spend 18 hours to earn 12k. It's actually sort of disgusting to hear someone complaining about it.

if he was just bitching then yeah i would agree.

but he isnt, he has seen a problem and a way it could be resolved for the better of everyone and is trying to fix it. perspective is irrelevant here.
