You don't have $40? [irrelevant, but worth mentioning I guess since he decided to bet it]

If the Eagles were 4-0, and the Cowboys had lost Romo and T.O. for the season, would you be willing to cancel the bet?

You made a bad bet, it happens.

You can be stand up and honor your word and pay if you lose, or you can be a slime-bucket for $xxx.

Kind of a betting newbie, and I had bet this guy on this other site $20 a game on eagles/cowboys (they play twice this year) but things happened and now I don't have that kind of money to gamble with (it was a straight up win or lose bet, no point spreads). Is there anyway I can get out of this? Is there some ettiquete to this?

[/ QUOTE ]

You could try to estimate the EV of the bet and offer him what he's due, however it's not going to be a pretty number in % terms.

when you say "but things happened" do you really mean "but the eagles suck and the cowboys will win the nfc"?

Then how can $20 be too much.

Are you homeless?

We're talking a $40 bet here, right? Max?

No, you cannot get out of this. The etiquette is that the bet stands and you may have to pay money if you lose. That's how betting works.
