There is a PDF creator that comes on the OpenOffice disc. You have to download the openoffice ISO yourself and create the disc yourself but it isn't that tough.

The PDF creator creates a virtual printer that converts files to a PDF when you print to it.

Ran into an issue...creating the doc. Word 2007 only allows for a document size of 22x 22", i need 24 x 36. ( the test i ran was a smaller document)
Any thoughts on how to get around this without sacrificing the quality of the document image?

PowerPoint is better for making large posters than Word.

Also, no need to download an entire openoffice iso. There are free stand-alone porgrams. I find this one the best.

I tried publisher 2007 and it SEEMED to do exactly what i need. publihser allowed me to create a document at the size i need and i was able to print to pdf.

The only thing i am experimenting with is the output size, there are a bunch of large single sheet sizes, just need to figure out which one is exactly 24x36, and if there is a way to set a user defined size in the pdf.
Thanks again to all for the help
