Super easy turn fold as played. Interesting to note that I would check the flop with this hand 100% of the time in this spot but almost no 2+2er will agree with me here.

Simply put, whenever I raise preflop and Im OOP to 5 or more people on the flop, I am never betting the flop with one pair. A bet will not protect my hand and someone will almost always bet if I check. So Im checking and evaluating the action. If a player close to my right bets and a few people call, Im just gonna check/raise for pure value and hope my hand holds up. If someone close to my left bets, Im gonna check/raise and hope people will incorrectly or correctly fold their 4/5 outers.

At 5-10 or above this happens so infrequently in this specific spot that I dont worry about it. Every strategy has a downside. Im still convinced that the upside of my strategy outweighs the downside but I cannot prove this and when you consider that most winning players would never check the flop in that spot you have a right to be skeptical about my strategy here. I dont mind being alone on this one. Checking the flop here is an extention of Mason Malmuth's/David Sklanky's idea that when the pot gets large you often have to play your hand in a somewhat unconvential manner to make the most money in the long run.

Interesting. At the live low limits I play at(4/8 upt o 8/16) players frequently check to the raiser even if he or she is in an EP like this hand,or even if their hand hits the flop, a lot of the time they check regardless.

If you are actually playing in a game where people check top pair or big draws after you check, then I would revise this strategy to betting the flop. I personally didnt know that type of game still existed. I believe my unconventional strategy is correct assuming typical table conditions. In fact when things are not typical it usually favors my strategy even more. Only under extreme passive conditions does my strategy break down.

I play almost exclusively live. As you know tables change during any given session so adapting is important no doubt.
