He's not folding ever pf but I reckon a shove is marginally +EV. He's doing this with all two braodway hands IMO as well as 66+. I don't think he does this, all of sudden, with QQ+.

[/ QUOTE ] By stop and go, do you mean open shove for 1.5x pot each and every flop (which I think is kind of bad), or some kind of variation of which involves calling pf and then opening most flops (which I think may be OK)?

[/ QUOTE ] The problem with this is you need to be completely opponent dependent. If I'm playing a random, sometimes I'll call and lead most flops I miss, and check/call (or check/shove if they don't shove) any flop I hit reasonably well - I think vs. random opponents this works really well. This of course will not work at all vs. a thinking opponent and isn't all that useful vs. a thinking opponent so I won't really do it as much. Sometimes I will do it though if I have a strong enough hand because I think most thinking players will call stop-n-goes incredibly light (as they rightfully should IMO). Ohh... As for the actual hand here, there's no freaking way I'm stop-n-going with 55 here, either stick it in now or fold.

[/ QUOTE ] I've done the math enough times to know that a stop and go that involves a more than pot-sized bet on the flop is always or almost always wrong. You're letting the AKs and AQs get away when they miss the flop, which is allowing them to play perfectly when you are giving them pot odds of 2:1 or worse. That is somewhat compensated here by the fact that you can get higher pairs to fold, but not enough to make it profitable. Your stack is just too big here compared to the blinds for a sng. General rules: 1. Flop bet = 1/2 pot, stop and go good for any two cards (unless you think you are ahead). 2. Flop bet = 3/4 pot, stop and go marginal (you need to fold out some better hands to make up for the times that you allow your opponent to play perfectly) 3. Flop bet = pot, stop and go no good. You need to fold out quite a few better hands, plus you probably had a bit of pf fold equity.
