Re: 200nl: Some dumb small pot hands.
[ QUOTE ]
If you would humor me, for hand 4 why is Mr.D's line better than firing on the flop. TIA. [/ QUOTE ] Because a lot of the time the guys behind you will bluff at the pot, but would not have called a bet. I check/call a lot in these spots with top pair no kicker because it's the best way to extract what little value there is to be had. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 1. meh 2. meh 3. meh 4. meh [/ QUOTE ] interesting... [/ QUOTE ] Since these are all very opponent dependant, I made a reply equally pointless to the OP. [/ QUOTE ] I like the OP. It's hard to find discussion of good LAG FR play, and should stimulate some wildly different opinions. Especially enlightening for nitjobs like myself. (not that I'll be opening up to 22/18 any time soon) |

I play 1 and 4 the same. 2 and 3 look fine, though I think you are better off c-betting on 3.

Re: 200nl: Some dumb small pot hands.
I couldn't bring myself to call the flop PSB in hand 2. Your IO are higher than I'm used to since you're playing such wide ranges, however. Since the board is so trashy, your A outs are good a lot of the time, even still this is a fold for me. I wouldn't lead it, because he'll raise lightly if he's been paying attn, and I'm definitely giving up to a raise.

1 - fold the turn [/ QUOTE ] You've got about 10 outs (give or take) to hit on the river. You're getting 3:1 and only need 4:1 to make the call correct. Which means you only have to get 1/4 pot more from villain on the river. Which in turn means that if you hit your 1/2 pot value bet only has to be called 50% for the call on the turn to be +EV. Right? |

Re: 200nl: Some dumb small pot hands.
in hand one, there are a lot of reverse implied odds on the turn, while there are not very many implied odds.
you could be drawing dead. the only way you are ahead is if he has diamonds, and that is possible, but i see villain with top pair far more likely(which he obviously did not have. it is close, but chasing draws OOP is a sketchy thing to do because villain will be enabled to control the pot if he can benefit from it. of course, if you have a read that he calls cbets with pocket twos and worse, then obviously the rewards of staying in the pot are improved. |

Re: 200nl: Some dumb small pot hands.
1. nh. A river bet folds some pairs that beat you, but the other way might be better if he'll bet a busted flush.
2. I'd bet the turn and unhappily call if villain shoves his last $120. 3. I play it the same way, but I almost always muck this one. 4. nh |
