This is a little off topic and kind of a semi-dumb post I suppose...but I was laying in bed last night thinking about this as yesterday afternoon I made a couple board misreads while chatting on AIM. When I'm playing on interpoker and chatting...typing is so hard (because inter always steals focus) that I'm often so focussed on trying to get the damn text typed before inter steals focus that I lose even more focus on the tables.
In terms of bb/100, how much does talking on AIM hurt my winrate when playing 4-6 tables? I always put up an away message now and don't start conversations with people, but I have a bad habbit of not ignoring even 'hey what's up' kind of conversations with lots of people and I'm beginning to think I should just sign off and if somebody really wants to get ahold of me they can just call me. After all, this is work. But I'm such a social person...and I love rubbing hands in schneids face and catching up with people and stuff...and it probably makes playing poker 'more fun' with less grind...so it's really a complex situation...cause mb I'd play less if I was having less 'fun'. I dunno. Anyone have any guesses? |
