Re: Pooh Bah Dissertation Chapter 1: Big Pots vs Small Pots
Well. Chino987 or whatever was posting for a long time but I guess he's emo or something and wanted to get banned because NT is an idiot. I don't really remember.
lol @ you grading people on anything lol I'd recommend you stop grading people's posting skills and maybe, you know, get good at the pokers. |

Re: Pooh Bah Dissertation Chapter 1: Big Pots vs Small Pots
Writing about concepts that have never been discussed anywhere before is not easy and should not be expected here.
If it is of interest to anyone, Ed Miller's example showed a board that had no flush draws or reasonable, if any, straight draws. |

Re: Pooh Bah Dissertation Chapter 1: Big Pots vs Small Pots
Whether if it has been posted about before is totally irrelevant. We(me inlcuded)post topics that have been dicussed, debated, agreed or disagreed upon all the time. It is good to see something solid like this if for no other reason than a reminder of an important concept. Nobody plays perfect and sometimes we slide back into old habits and we ocassionaly need to be reminded of solid strategies or concepts to better use in our games. Kit is a giver here on this forum and this is another example of that.

Re: Pooh Bah Dissertation Chapter 1: Big Pots vs Small Pots
Very nice post here Kit. I would have liked you to add another different scenario for the big pot point. Maybe something like you hold 33 in BB, 3 PF limpers, CO raises, BTN calls, all call, 7 to the flop for 3-T-J w/ 2 clubs.
There, you obviously want to protect your hand, and I like going with a B/3B (this flop will get raised 75%+ I believe) and no live 4/8 player would ever fold an open ender/FD for 2 bets, so might as well make them pay 3. Or, do you still like a c/r to try to iso vs. a bigger pair? Thoughts? |

[/ QUOTE ] interesting spot here. in this instance your equity advantage is so enormous that I would prefer to take a line which maximizes value. dont worry about shutting players out. imo, the best line for this is a B/3B, trapping players for one bet on the flop and then laying the hammer down with a 3 bet. |
