if villian is going to get it in with the bare Ac here then obv raising is the best play. Hes going to push all 2pr hands , overpairs with a club possible, sets also. If we wait for the turn we dont know what type of hand he has and so we techincally dont know what the scare cards is. plus hes less likely to get it in on the turn with bare Ac
u played it perfectly |

Your friend sucks at poker [/ QUOTE ] pretty much. calling can be ok, but not for reaaons your friend listed. Getting away easy and limiting the damage is not what you want to do, esp if you are folding the best hand fairly frequently when a 4th club hits. reasons to call are he will 3 barrel with hands that are drawing close to dead. if thats the case you can let him hang himself since he is getting off too easy when you bomb the flop. |

You are definitely right and raising the flop is the only right play. It's quite simple: you figure you have the best hand so you get as much money in as possible. Waiting for a turn is giving your opponent a free card to draw out on you which is very bad. And fwiw, with the way the hand played out you maximized your equity. [/ QUOTE ] |

I really like waiting for the turn here. Its an advanced play that maximizes your equity vs hands with lots of outs. I mentioned its downside. [/ QUOTE ] lol @ calling this advanced. |

Both plays are actually ok in the right situation. Semi-loose, tight players wait till turn. Aggro type players get it in on the flop. But not always. Clear as mud, good.
In other words, very Villian dependent and game situational. IMO. |
